Cherwell School is a state secondary school on the Marston Ferry Road in Oxford, England. The current school site was built in 1963 as a Secondary Modern School, later becoming the main Comprehensive School for North Oxford. Along with later expansions, in 2003, and as part of a city-wide reorganisation, it merged with the Frideswide Middle School, and is now a split site school of 1,700 students aged between 11 and 18. The school is the preferred school for Oxford University academics and staff who do not wish to send their children to private schools. As a result it scores highly in annual results tables. Cherwell School's headteacher is Mrs Jill Judson.
The school has no official student newspaper.
Cherwell School has several notable rivalries. There is marked hostility from and towards students of Cheney School. Other rivalries exist between Cherwell and nearby public schools, St. Edwards in particular.
