Cheney School is a coeducational, comprehensive secondary school located in Headington, Oxford, England.

Cheney is currently one of the largest state schools in Oxford, serving the Headington and East Oxford area. It was the major destination for students coming from Headington Middle School and Isis Middle School, although some students from other middle schools did enroll. It has recently become one of the higher achieving state schools in Oxford, along with The Cherwell School. The current headmaster is Mrs Kirby, who was selected following lengthy interviews in 2006. However, Mrs Kirby will not be the official head until April 2007: until that point, Mrs Janet Minot is Acting Head. The previous headmaster was Mr Alan Lane, who retired at Christmas (2006) after 25 years service to the school.

The original foundation was around 1797, eventually becoming Cheney Girls' School. The Junior Day Department of the Oxford Technical College and later became Cheney School, a mixed secondary technical school. Together they were usually known as Cheney Mixed. In 1972 the two schools merged to form the new mixed comprehensive school, Cheney School. In 2003, Cheney School changed from being a 3rd school, for children aged 13 to 18, to a upper school in the two tier system.

When the UK government began awarding grants to schools specialising in areas of the curriculum, Cheney School decided to become a Language College. Using the grant money, they built a specialised language computer laboratory and added extra in-classroom IT equipment.
