Chemical Reaction, which is spelled "cHEMICAL rEACTION" (cRO) is an artcene group that was founded in by the sceners rADIATORS (aka Dennis Hansen) and bLOOD in the year 1997 in Germany, Europe. The name was derived from the chemical brother album with the same title. Famous members of the group include hETERO, bATE, pALEDETH and fLI7E.
The original idea and reason for the creation of the group was to create a diskmag (disk magazine, named after the early electronic magazines that were distributed via floppy disks) that is made of the finest scene artwork in the categories ascii, ansi, gfx (graphics), tracks (music) and demos, a diskmag that should separate itself from the Warez scene and build its own art-scene.
The group mostly works on request. At the beginning was many stuff produced but never packed together, which caused the lost of many of the artists. The main idea of releasing a diskmag with a w32 engine took 5 years to be realized. Before this just artpacks were released, but it also took cRO one year to release the first artpack.
The group structure changed in the year 2000 when sORT8 and pALEDETH became co-leaders of cRO.
After releasing the first artpack in 2000 cHEMICAL rEACTION was beeing recognized by many scene groups and the number of artwork request increased. The requests were mostly for .nfo file logos, FILE ID.DIZ, Cracktros and Intros.
The founder rADIATORS quitted the group in 2002 for personal reasons and fUSSIE, mR.nICE and nEOMAN became the new leaders. It is ironic that the first cRO diskmag was released the same year, the diskmag that lead to the creation of the group in the first place.
Chemical reaction exists to this day and the active members still do artwork on request. cRO is not a commercial organization. It's a hobby for all the members and they do it just for fun. They can be reached at the Internet Relay Chat channel #cRO at the EFnet.
