Chelsea Reserves are the reserve team of Chelsea Football Club. They are members of the FA Premier Reserve League Southern Division, although Jose Mourinho has called for them to play in the football league [1]. They have never won the competition. The team mainly consists of Under-21 players at the club, although senior players occasionally play in the reserve side, for instance when they are recovering from injury. The reserves' head coach is Brendan Rogers. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has put around £38 million towards a new youth program, hoping to match the production of Arsenal.[citation needed]
