Chelford railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chelford railway station serves the town of Chelford in Cheshire.
On 22 December 1894 the line was operated by the London and North Western Railway. A strong wind blew a high-sided freight wagon into violent contact with other wagons, causing one to overturn and to block the main line. An express train between London and Manchester collided with the wagon. Thirteen people were killed, and 48 injured.
