Cheepurupalli mandal has 58,000 population in 2001. Males consists of 29,036 and females 28,964 of the population. The average literacy rate is 52%, less than the national average of 59.5%. Male literacy rate is 63% and that of females 41%.
There are 32 revenue villages and 17 village panchayats in Cheepurupalli mandal.
It houses the Ferro Manganese plant, which provides a source of employment for the residents.

Cheepurupalli is connected with rail. Cheepurupalli station is located on Howrah-Chennai mainline. It can be reached by a journey of two hours by road from visakhapatnam and one hour from vizianagaram.
