[edit] Minerva nine
I need to merge Minerva nine with Minerva Nine. i.e., I'd like BOTH names capitalized on my account name. I inadvertently created two accounts, and can't recall the password I used for Minerva Nine. The e.mail account I used to register that account has apparently ceased to exist, as a request for password does not send it to any of my current accounts. Any other way to verify I own that account? Thanks Minerva nine 19:18, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's a bit of a pickle. But first, I need to tell you that, as it is stated in the instructions above, we cannot merge two accounts. We can only rename an existing account to a name that is not already taken in the system. What could be done is that the account "Minerva Nine" could be renamed to something different (and I would prefer if it were permanently blocked after that), making the name available again. Then, the account "Minerva nine" could be renamed to "Minerva Nine". The problem is that I would need both accounts to post here expressing that they agree with the procedure (and that "Minerva Nine" would indicate what provisional name would be used to rename it). But you are saying that you own the account but can't log on for those reasons. We can't verify this any other way, since "Minerva Nine" has never been active. Your alternative would be to select a variation of "Minerva Nine" to which "Minerva nine" could be renamed. Redux 00:24, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
OK, how about renaming Minerva nine to "Minerva 9" -- I have searched the name list and there is a Minerva9 (no space) but not a Minerva 9 (with space). If that's acceptable, please go ahead and do it! Thanks Minerva nine 05:43, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm afraid "Minerva9" and "Minerva 9" are too similar, and could cause some confusion. It's ok for usernames to bear some resemblance, but if they are nearly identical, there could be misunderstandings. Could you pick another username? Thank you. Redux 23:44, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Well but doesn't that apply to the original problem? We have "Minerva Nine" and "Minerva nine" both registered, both of which I own, but I can't prove "Minerva Nine" since I can't remember the password, and have apparently lost contact with the e.mail address I originally registered it under... It seems pretty arbitrary to allow one but not the other. Minerva nine 05:55, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Crna Gora
Please change User:CrnaGora to User:Crna Gora and please change User:Dbalic to User:CrnaGora. Thanks, Crna Gora 06:52, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Two problems: 1. user:Crna Gora exists so we cannot rename you to that account. If you are the same user as Crna Gora, please login as Crna Gora, and place a request here to move it to a blank account of your choice. We can then move CrnaGora to Crna Gora. Secondly, you would have to log in as Dbalic to effect the name change. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 13:57, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Maesser
Please change User:Maesser to User:MAEsser. I only just realized how picky wikipedia is about caps. Thank you for your help.
- MAEsser account exits. You'd have to pick another user name. Please see the above instructions to select an available username. =Nichalp «Talk»= 13:01, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Boccherini's Guitar
Could you please merge the edits from User:Boccherini's Guitar with those from User:AlbertHerring? Thanks very much. --AlbertHerring 06:59, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] REY
Please change User:OMEN to User:REY. I created this account in the company of my little brother who made the request that I use this name after watching that movie, however, I find it to be gruesome. I hope I am not being a burden, and because I don't have so many contributions, I may just create a new account - however, I wish not to, seeing that I have already created articles and am currently in the process of joinings some organizations here, and whatnot. Thank you OMEN 20:18, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- A user Rey exists. It's too close to the other name so I suggest you pick another name. Thanks! =Nichalp «Talk»= 12:50, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Very well, User:EL REY could be a second choice! Thanks! But, if possible, I would like to retain my first choice, as the user "Rey" only has one edit and does not seem to edit Wikipedia often. OMEN 19:01, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- In that case, I'll go with "User:LENIN" ( a user with no edits exists at User:Lenin, but has, no edits so is that still a problem?) or User:NOVO-REI or something of that sort. OMEN 03:23, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

- No, I'm sorry we can't, as the name exists. Please read the instructions to check if a username is available before trying again. =Nichalp «Talk»= 12:51, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AdminNo1
Please change username Emmabritton to AdminNo1 Emmabritton 14:02, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, that username is inappropriate. It falls under the prohibition against role accounts as it uses "admin" which is a Wikipedia position. Please choose another name. Essjay (Talk • Connect) 08:20, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sky High
Please change my username Sky HIgh to Sky High . The capital I means it doesn't conform to the username guidelines anyway. I was dumb enough leave my finger on the Shift key just a bit too long when I created the account. Extra dumb because a wanted to fix some typos. I only have the one page edit. Sky HIgh 11:46, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Sky HIgh
- I'm sorry, but User:Sky High already exists. Please follow the instructions at the top of the page to select a different, unregistered username. Essjay (Talk • Connect) 12:27, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm. When I searched on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Listusers it gave me a link that when clicked on says "Wikipedia does not have a user page with this exact name" which led me to believe that the username was free. This is confusing and should be clarified. Meanwhile I'll think of another name. Sky HIgh 15:30, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Sky HIgh
- Did you perhaps forget to capitalize the S? As the top of this page notes, if you fail to capitalize the first letter, you will get a false result. My check of Special:Listusers shows Sky High showing up. (Note that if a user shows up on Listusers, it exists; not having a userpage is not the same as not existing.) Essjay (Talk • Connect) 15:33, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Medetera
Please change User:Medetera to User:T.Fitzgerald. Since I have created text in Wikipedia entries that I have on my social caterpillars website, I want to make it clear that I am the author of the original text so there are no questions concerning copyrights ....Thanks Terrence D. Fitzgerald
[edit] xFirecrackerx
Please change XFirecrackerx to xFirecrackerx. Thank you.
- That is not possible. The English Wikipedia requires all page names and user names to start with a capital letter. Kimchi.sg 16:56, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] TonySapphire
Please delete my user page and user talk page. I wouldn't mind if someone use my account and claimed my contributions. Thank you. User:TonySapphire 03:33, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- That's not what this page is for; to have your user/talk pages deleted, tag them with {{delete}}. Be aware that most admins will not delete talk pages, only blank them. Essjay (Talk) 07:05, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
