[edit] User:maru

I've been meaning to change my username for a long time; this is shorter and less confusing for people. Plus, I'm just barely below the 20k mark, so it is now or never. --maru (talk) contribs 05:47, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Username exists, see Special:Listusers. Is there a second choice? Essjay TalkContact 06:00, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Nope. Incidentally, is that a bug that listuser gives different results for "maru" and "Maru"? --maru (talk) contribs 06:31, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
It's not a bug. Wikimedia software automatically converts the first letter of an article/user name to upper case. =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:43, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FellowWikipedian

Please change my user name to "Fellow wikipedian" to "FellowWikipedian". The login page will not let me login.

This isn't the place to resolve your login issues. {{helpme}} is only to be used on your own talk page, not here.--Commander Keane 17:36, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ukepedia to Ukulele

could you please change my username Ukepedia to Ukulele (my user name on meta, currently asked for a change on fr, I'm trying to use a single username). Thanks in advance. Ukepedia 03:23, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, that username already exists. Essjay TalkContact 04:22, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
ouch, as it has no user page and no contribution, I didn't know it was used yet. Is there a way to check if the account was created recently or never used ? Ukepedia 09:56, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
You can check the new user log, Special:Log/newusers, to search for the creation date. That log goes back about six months, I believe. If the account was created before that, it will not appear. If the account has contributions, Interiot's tool will list the create date. If it has no contributions, it is impossible to determine when it was registered. However, it really doesn't matter, as we do not currently allow users to usurp usernames that already exist. If you would like to change your name, you will have to pick a name that does not exist; the instructions at the top of the page explain how to search to see if an account exists. [edit] FLCE - Bronzey

Could you please change my name to plain "Bronzey", I thought it was possible to change usernames once registered, but it seems I can't. I know that this account has few edits but I do plan to do much more in the future. Thanks. Bronzey 04:13, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

The name "Bronzey" already exists. Essjay TalkContact 05:32, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:EKN

I would like to change my name from User EKN to User: Goldfish. EKN 19:49, 19 April 2006 (UTC)EKN

User:Goldfish already exists. Please check Special:Listusers before requesting (remember to check with a capital letter). Essjay TalkContact 06:49, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] ffhaykal99

Please change User:ffhaykal99 to User:ffh99

Sorry, we can fulfill your request unless you login as ffhaykal99 and post a new request. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 10:23, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
