[edit] House
I had it sourced on the official site and WLU removed it because he said it's not needed. Then he used that as an excuse to change it back to "also known". Meanwhile, if you communicate with FOX in any manner, they will inform you it's just "House". Billywhack 16:36, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Screamers (1995 film)
I'm glad that you understand that guideline trumps policy. Wait, sorry. [/sarcasm]
I'm focusing on that factoid because I added it. The plot is obviously sourced by the movie itself and the differences between screamers and second variety is not mine. Talk:Screamers (1995 film) if you care. Cburnett 20:20, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- Your comment seems needlessly confrontational and condescending, so I won't be responding here or on the article talk page. My opinion on the link simply isn't that strong. ChazBeckett 23:20, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Lost: Par Avion
Regarding your revert: -
(cur) (last) 18:26, 19 March 2007 ChazBeckett (Talk | contribs) (we have no idea how the Australian medical system works in the Lost universe)
Whilst I understand where you are coming from, the 'lost universe' aside, these are erroneous facts of the filming of the show itself. Furthermore, these are facts that most Australians would consider worth noting. It's quite insulting to insinuate that countries or states with a social-welfare system of governance has bills to pay for fundamental services which every human, by their human rights, has owing to them by fellow man.
It would be the equivilent of Lost depicting your country, whichever it may be, as having it socially acceptable to lock women in basements because they don't deserve freedom or education, or insert some other random human right. :)
Furthermore, another error occured when it comes to the legality of euthanasia in Australia, thus I have added that section and reverted to my original edition. These are errors, not in the 'lost universe', but in the filming of the show. Some call them trivia, but trivia is more essentially quips of note, not blatent errors or cultural faux pas such as the above. 211.30.75.123 18:42, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- We can't simply put aside the fact that Lost exists in fictional universe. Should we also consider it an error that the Hanso Foundation doesn't actually exist? Is it an error that a Hugo Reyes never actually won the lottery in the United States? There's simply far too differences between the real-world and Lost's world to point out every inconsistency. There's an outisde chance that something will be mentioned in the commentary for this episode on the DVDs. Otherwise, we really can't include such information without reliable sources. And by this I don't mean a reliable source describing the real-world's Australian healthcare system. I mean a source stating stating that creators consider this to be an error in the show. - G'day Chaz, sorry to butt in between you both. I gave his edits a read over. I believe what he is saying is correct. You cited the Hanso Foundation of Hugo's lotto win as examples, they're inappropriate given that they add meaning to the plot and serve a purpose. These errors served no purposes and were merely based on culturally ignorance of the subject nation depicted. It would be the equivilent of depicting the United States as actually being communist, not to add to the story line in any way, but depicted as though the authors / producers truly believed it. This would, naturally, irk Americans who would most likely with an error addendum to be added for those who would not pick up the notable error that, in this case, reflects not just on the film, but on the socio-political structure of Australia and the Commonwealth as a whole. Hope that clarifies it a little; if I'm wrong or have assumed too much, IP guy, feel free to correct me. Jachin 19:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

- My concern is these "errors" do not comply with WP:OR or WP:CITE. Perhaps you can describe how they are in compliance. I can't expand on this at the moment, but until some sources are provided that verify these as errors, as opposed to just different from the real-world, I do consider them to be disputed. Thank you for your response and I'll be able to discuss this more later. ChazBeckett 19:09, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
