There's a certain species of parrot (or other bird) which this guy resembles VERY closely. Unfortunately, I'm not certain of its name. -.- This info needs to be dug up and referred to in this article. --GregE 03:56, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

For goodwill's sake I cropped an image of Perappu for the meantime to use on this page.   • Hmm, interesting, but when I look up Quaver it says that it's the Commonwealth term for the note, and that the English term for it is an "Eighth Note". However, it probably would be good to call it a quaver in this article, just to make the article look more credible. Erik the Appreciator 19:10, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

    • I’m sorry, but I don’t follow, exactly what makes quaver “more credible”? Besides, most Pokémon articles are written in American English, for consistency, I think we should keep that trend with the new articles, regardless of who contributes. -- WikidSmaht (talk) 08:35, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, as WikidSmaht stated, Pokémon articles are generally written using American English, as recommended in WP:PCP/S. Personally, I've always heard them as eighth notes, etc., but that's probably just because I live in the USA.

However unlikely, it is a possibility that this pokemon will have a second type. The fact that Manafi does not have a second type brought attention to this; Manafi was believed to be the newest 'Final Legendary', but only has Water-type known. All so far had Psychic-Type, meaning that it either does not fit, or only had one type revealed. Again, not likely, but possible. Well, the only proof we'll really have is when Diamond and Pearl actually come out in Japan. Because Coro Coro says that Buizeru/Bouysel is pure water type when it looks like a normal type, Perap is a pure flying type when it doesn't seem much different from Flying/Normal types, Manaphy seeming like a "Final Legendary" able to use Psychic-looking attacks but is not a Psychic sub-type... I dunno, it raises my suspicions.Erik the Appreciator 17:06, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
I'm sure you all know by now, as it's in the actual article, but recent material shows it is indeed Normal/Flying.

I agree it should be Perap, which I see it now is, but I'd just like to say that Serebii never said that it was 100% confirmed to be Chatot. "However this is not official revealed yet, as it was heard the grapevine". So there you go. But it is Perap, until an official source says otherwise. Gran2 17:42, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I've added a note on the page to say that the name has been reported as Chatot and that other fansites have adopted the name, but that it remains so far unconfirmed. I think that it's notable that the name has been reported, and that its widespread presence in the Pokemon community deserves a mention. Actually including the name on the article page is also more likely to reduce the number of people coming in and automatically changing the whole page through on the assumption that "ZOMG WP hasn't heard of Chatot, I'm a helper!" If my addition is to be reverted, I'd at least like an explanation as to why not mentioning the name at all is more helpful to the page.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.44.115.148 (talk) 12:55, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

If need be, I'll try and keep what you put in the article. It should keep people from also changing the "preceding" and "following" line to "Chatot" on the Pokes that precede/follow it (I just reverted that on Pinpuku). -Jeske (Complaints Dept.) 18:16, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Considering they have the NAME of the EPISODE he's appearing in, theres a 99.9999999999% chance that it is chatot, as Serebii has NEVER been wrong about an episode title, so we know their sources are reliable. Myzou
