Hi, I manage the band's (Charming Hostess) website. And thought (since I'm not a writer) that it would be okay to enter the text the band's composer gave me about the band into Wikipedia. Yes, the material has been posted at www.charminghostess.us/about.html but the composer wrote it herself and gives her consent to use this material on Wikipedia.

You can contact me through at web@charminghostess.us or via the whois information for the webmanger for www.charminghostess.us via the links on the website.

Is this enough to clear up the copywrite violation? What else do I need to do?

Thanks, --Anmarie 17:21, 15 November 2005 (UTC)AnMarie

The content needs to be licensed specifically under the GFDL (see WP:GFDL for details. At the moment, we have no way of knowing that the owner of the content (is that you?) agrees with its reproduction. You could well be a fan pretending to be the webmaster.
Why not write something original that fits more with an actual encyclopedia article format? Compare this page with Pink Floyd or Genesis (band). At the moment the page reads like CD liner notes. I'd start with the year when the band was founded, the members, changes in personnel and the main styles and influences. When doing the bit about styles try to avoid new terms but stick to musicological nomenclature. Mention the reason why the band is called Charming Hostess. List its albums in a bullet format, if possible by period.
The page should be moved to Charming Hostess anyway, which you should be able to do when you've accrued a certain amount of edits. JFW | T@lk 18:53, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
