Talk:Charlton Athletic F.C.

To all Charlton Fans is the view that addick is a possible corruption of 'addock sensible ?
In the Early 70's when I first went I asked why "Up the Addocks" (Note; not up the Addicks) was shouted by my Granddad. He told me it was because when he first went there was a man with a Haddock that would walk round the ground with it" and that is why we were using the name addocks. Now my Grandfather was a supporter on and off before we went professional and although he never told me about the sponsorship of the fish monger or the stick it all seems to add up.--130.36.87.103 11:55, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Do you think we should add something about the Catford Move ?

- The fishmomger story is not "far fetched" My Mate supports your mob, and his Grandad told me he saw him "in action" at home games, Be Lucky. Lion King 15:56, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
Valey view advert? Valey view maybe a great fanzine but its inclusion in the article seems more of an advert than anyting. Perhaps there should be an article on Charlton Fanzines VOTV, Goodbye horse etc. and include Valey View
No mention of Steve Gritt as joint manager at the beginning of Curbishley's reign? --Deadlock 17:14, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Since when did Motty ever say he supported Charlton??
I think we should not make Dowie Irish. He was born in England and so is, the fact his fathers place of birth enabled him to represent Northen Ireland is irelevant.

[edit] "Disappointing Players for Charlton"
I see no benefit in this little section. It is pure opinion and has no place on this page surely.
[edit] Transfers
I have removed the transfers section, as Wikipedia is not a news service. Oldelpaso 11:20, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neutrality
The paragraphs about the fan director strike me as biased in the extreme. I don't personally know enough about the gentleman in question to be able to rewrite it, though. Js farrar 11:22, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
