[edit] Charles Jacobs' jobs
Actually, he's only a co-director of "The Sudan Campaign". See this letterhead.[1] That's run out of Fredricksburg, VA, by others, while Jacobs' main organizations are all Boston-based. --John Nagle 06:28, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- NYS, don't move this. It belongs here. SlimVirgin (talk) 01:57, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
How does this material belong here? Isn't the talk page associated with the Charles Jacobs in question located at Charles Jacobs (political activist) at the following direct link Talk? (Is this yet one more attempt to circumvent normal Wikipedia guidelines and procedures? This page appears to be a sneaky attempt to discuss issues pertaining to the article without unsuspecting readers being able to see the previous issues on the actual article's talk page. [Though it may not be.])
The correction was put in the article days ago--see the comment on the talk page in the section where I placed this material.
See What does he do? JN raised the questions already in the talk page associated with the article. Why has he and SV apparently generated this additional talk page that is not associated directly with the article?
Until this (additional) problem is resolved--see WP:AD, I have placed another WP:BLP warning on this page (as one is already on the talk page associated with the article [as is appropriate]).
Why is this page being generated independently of the actual talk page for the article? Please provide an adequate explanation. Thank you. (SV: Please stop breaking the [[WP:3RR] policy in other articles that I have contributed to. I have brought this practice to the attention of administrators; see both the talk page just linked and WP:AD.) --NYScholar 02:44, 1 August 2006 (UTC) [couple of typo corrs added later]--NYScholar 05:39, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- This is the talk page for this page. Is there a reason you can't see that for yourself? Please stop being so controlling. SlimVirgin (talk) 05:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- This talk page is not associated directly with the particular Charles Jacobs whom you are discussing on this talk page. It is the talk page attached to a disambiguation page (and thus ambiguously associated with the subject Charles Jacobs (political activist), it seems intentionally.
- I replaced the tag that someone removed because you are treating this page as if it were a talk page about the article concerning Charles Jacobs (political activist), not all people named "Charles Jacobs." You know that. Talk about being "controlling!" Please avoid the continuing personal attacks here and elsewhere. Talk about Charles Jacobs (political activist) should be on the talk page of the article associated with him and not on this disambiguation page for the words "Charles Jacobs" (which relates to other people w/ that name too). Perhaps the article "Charles Jacobs (political activist)" needs to be renamed and moved so that all talk pages relating to that person are merged and attached to his (one) article. I put the BLP tag back on this page so that it doesn't invite other people to come here and malign a living person (which could happen). The other talk page with the same tag refers people to the dangers of doing that (a point that you yourself have made many times over in relation to the articles about and relating to him). If you value NPOV, which a notice on your user page says that you do, then I think that you can understand these concerns. [updated somewhat later] --NYScholar 10:52, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
