[edit] merge

I do think all AOCs really ought to have their own article with the INAO regulations etc listed, though this is a slightly difficult case. Justinc 11:42, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

  • When merged, the name probably should be Chablis AOC. This name does not seem like a good choice. Vegaswikian 06:59, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

About merging: Honestly, I think this whole Chablis article (it's short enough) should be merged with Chardonnay, and the Chablis wine link redirected there. The Chardonnay article wouldn't be hurt by having a section in it devoted to Chablis. Just my opinion. -Amatulic 18:47, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

I think the merge of Chablis & Chablis AOC is good, however I would be more partial to a name of Chablis (wine) or Chablis (AOC) since the point of the article is more so the wine then the AOC. I don't think we should merge into Chardonnay. There is enough substantial difference in Chablis that would warrant it's own article. In the Chardonnay article there can be a brief paragraph with a See main article: Chablis attached. Agne 16:46, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Upon reflection, I think you're correct about keeping Chablis separate, so I have removed the "merge this article to Chardonnay" tag. I also thind that AOC and wine articles should be merged as a general principle, not just for the specific case of Chablis AOC and Chablis wine. -Amatulic 04:05, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

I think it makes little sense to have parallel articles called Chablis (wine) and Chablis AOC. If relevant, the AOC designation should be described on the 'wine' page. This issue has also been discussed on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wine. In my view, we should merge all the AOC (or non-French equivalents) into the corresponding wine article. --Portnadler 17:41, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree that all of these AOC pages should be merged into Chablis wine. Although, to be perfectly honest, even though I don't have a clue what most of these articles are about, it seems each individual AOC article is sufficiently small enough that they don't warrant their own page. Not to mention each AOC article says pretty much the same thing. Jihiro 03:50, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I think Chablis (wine) and Chablis AOC should be merged and called Chablis (wine). Paul Matthews 11:58, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

I think we have enough consensus, so I have merged what little content there was in Chablis AOC and redirected it here. When time permits, I will review all the other AOC pages that are duplicates. --Portnadler 12:47, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
