Chase is a short story or novella written by Dean R. Koontz. It was published along with other short stories in the book titled Strange Highways. The 121 page story features a small cast of characters. The protagonist, Benjamin Chase, is a Vietnam veteran who has forced himself into extreme solitude. The antagonist is an estranged killer who calls himself "The judge." It has been argued that Chase's own psyche is as much of an antagonist as the killer is.
