Chaşá are Indians of South America, told of only briefly in the letters of Pedro Olavares de Henares, a member of the third mission of Spanish explorers to venture into what are now Peru and Bolivia.(see Marvelist Press)

[edit] History

Separated from the group because of sickness and left to die, he claims in his letters to have been found and brought miraculously back to health by a tribe of Indians of great size, references to whom have been made by no one else traveling in that area, and one questioned by anthropologists.

His letters tell of their legends, mystical practices and bizarre abilities (simple clairvoyance or simpatico among others)He never returned to Spain and his letters are the only remaining proof of his existence after the outset of the mission.
