Charlotte Cleverley-Bisman
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Charlotte Cleverley-Bisman (born November 2003) is a famous baby from New Zealand. She made headlines worldwide after recuperating from a series of life-threatening injuries. She is nicknamed "Miraculous Baby Charlotte" by her countrymen and women.
Cleverley-Bisman is the daughter of Pam Cleverley and Perry Bisman. She developed meningococcal septicaemia aged six months, which led to her having all four limbs amputated.
Charlotte Cleverley-Bisman was not expected to survive. She had her legs and arms partially amputated. This measure was needed to save her life; but her young age at the time of the surgery was of much worry to her doctors. Nevertheless, Cleverley-Bisman was able to recuperate. She was operated at Starship children's hospital.
In August of 2004, she was measured for artificial limbs, which she is expected to be fitted with shortly after. As part of her rehabilitation process, she plays with toys and exercises on a daily basis.
