Charlie Weasley (born December 12, 1972)[1][2] is a fictional character in the Harry Potter series, the second son of Molly and Arthur Weasley, and the brother of Bill, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Charlie is described as having broad, good-natured, weather-beaten face with so many freckles that it looks almost tanned. Charlie's build, like his twin brothers Fred and George, is shorter and stockier than Percy and Ron's, who are long and lanky.
Charlie attended Hogwarts from 1984 to 1991, finishing school the year before Harry Potter started attending. At Hogwarts, he was a prefect and Quidditch Captain in which he was a legendary Seeker for Gryffindor Quidditch team. Charlie was the Seeker Harry was always compared against in his first year. Though Oliver Wood claimed that Charlie Weasley was good enough that he could have played for England, Charlie chose instead to go to Romania to work with dragons as a Dragon Keeper. According to Hagrid, Charlie was good with animals and according to his younger brother Percy, Charlie was always "the outdoorsman type", which may have influenced his career. He took Hagrid's baby (and illegally hatched) dragon Norbert into his care in Harry's first year, and his team brought four rare species of dragon to Hogwarts in The Goblet of Fire for the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament. He had to retake his Apparation test because the first time he missed his Apparation point and scared an old woman in a Muggle grocery store, materialising right on top of her; according to his youngest brother Ron, Fred and George did not make fun of Charlie's first failure because of his powerful physicality.
After the second rise of Lord Voldemort, Charlie's task in the Order of the Phoenix was to try and rally support abroad. He has not returned to England since The Goblet of Fire. However, it is probable that Charlie will return in the seventh, and final, novel for his brother Bill's wedding.
