Charles Peter Charlie Cassidy was a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, played by Cliff Ellen. He first appeared in 2003 when his daughter, Lyn Scully tracked him down after she found out he was her biological father. Charlie made several appearances including Oscar's christening, Stephanie's Wedding day, on which he proposed to his teenage sweetheart Valda Sheergold and married her that same day. At Christmas 2004, Charlie returned one final time to spend his last days with his family as his cancer had advanced. Steph urged Charlie to hang on for Valda and, Charlie's son Michael to arrive but Charlie died. When Lyn eventually arrived with Michael, Steph had found herself in a compromising position, by adjusting Charlie's pillow which had made it look like she had killed him. Charlie later appeared as a ghost in one of Steph's dreams prior to her trial.
