Charlestown, Greater Manchester

Charlestown is an electoral district or ward in the north of the City of Manchester, England. Voters from this ward elect three councillors to Manchester City Council. Currently all three councillors, Basil Curley, Eric Hobin and Mark Hackett are members of the Labour Party.
Hackett is a member of the council executive with the Culture and Leisure portfolio, he also sits on the Art Galleries committee. His current term as councilor expires in 2008. Curley is also a member of the executive with responsibility for Adult Services. He too sits on the Art Galleries committee and is chair of the Constitution and Nomination committee. His term expires in 2007. Hobin's term expires in 2010 and he sits on the Community Regeneration and Licensing and Appeals committees.
