Charles Tyrwhitt

Charles Tyrwhitt ['tɪrɪt] was founded in 1986 as a luxury mail order shirt company by Nicholas Charles Tyrwhitt Wheeler while he was a student at Bristol University. Since then the company has grown rapidly and is now the largest mail order supplier of dress shirts in the UK. Charles Tyrwhitt has successfully[citation needed] branched out into men’s casual and formal wear and has a growing women’s and children’s collection.
The first store was opened at 89 Jermyn Street, London in 1997 as the first retail outlet. The premises moved to No 92 Jermyn Street in 2001 as the range and demand grew. It is now one of 8 stores worldwide, including two in New York, and one in Paris. Most recently opened is the flagship store on 7th Avenue, New York.
