Charles Peat

Charles Urie Peat (28 February 1892 – 27 October 1979) was a British Conservative Party politician.
At the 1931 general election, he was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) for Darlington, defeating the sitting Labour MP Arthur Lewis Shepherd. In the Labour landslide at the 1945 general election, he was defeated by Labour's David Hardman.
From March to August 1945, he served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Insurance.
