Charles August Mengin, (1853 - 3rd April 1933, Paris) French painter of the Academic art movement. Educated by Gecker and Alexandre Cabanel. First exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1876. He is best known for his painting of Sappho, in the collection of the Manchester Art Gallery.
