Charles Manly Stedman

Charles Manly Stedman (1841 - 1930) was a North Carolina politician who served as Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina and as a U.S. Representative in Congress. A Democrat, Stedman was elected Lieutenant Governor in 1884 and served one term. As lieutenant governors were then limited to one term, he ran unsuccessfully for Governor in 1888. In 1910, Stedman was elected to the United States House of Representatives and served there until his death on September 23, 1930.
