Charles Hastings (founder of the British Medical Association)

Sir Charles Hastings (January 11, 1794March 21, 1866) was a physician and founder of the British Medical Association, originally Provincial Medical and Surgical Association on July 19, 1832[1][2].

He was an authority on chest diseases and wrote numerous scientific papers.

He was knighted in 1850.

He died March 21, 1866
