Charles Fort Institute

The Charles Fort Institute is an effort by a group of Forteans to create βthe world's leading resource for scholarship and research in the understanding of strange experiences and anomalous phenomena.β[1] Founded in 1998 by Fortean Times editor Bob Rickard, the institute is currently seeking charitable status.

Members of the institute hope to create a permanent reference collection for those studying anomalous phenomena in the form of; a museum to preserve case related evidence, relics and objects of Fortean interest, a library of books about strange phenomena and other Fortean topics and an extensive archive of relevant newspaper clippings, magazines and periodicals. The institute is also planning to use the internet to make archive material available worldwide.
