Charles Flynn

Dr. Charles L. Flynn, Jr. was appointed President at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in 2000. Prior to the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Flynn served as Provost of Assumption College in Massachusetts and Associate Provost at Adelphi University.

He received a doctorate in history from Duke University. Flynn is a respected scholar and author; his book Race, Class, and Politics in Southern History was named an outstanding book on human rights by the Gustavus Myers Center in 1990.

Flynn serves on the Board of Directors of the Grace Institute, the Advisory Board of the Bronx Arts Ensemble, Skyline Conference (NCAA D-III), and the Lower Hudson Valley Catholic College and University Consortium.
