Charles David is an American designer of luxury leather goods and shoes. The family owned company began U.S. distribution of European shoes in 1987. Its first retail store opened on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, CA in 1988. In 2005, it had 25 retail stores across the U.S. It also sells handbags and shoes in department and specialty stores nationwide, such as Nordstrom, Macy's and Bloomingdale's.
In Spring, 2004, Charles David launched their junior lines, Charles by Charles David, and Exchange by Charles David. Charles by Charles David features the latest trends in affordable prices. Exchange by Charles David is a younger, funkier line from the popular signature line.
Charles David shoes have been worn by stars such as Debra Messing, Eva Longoria, Jessica Simpson, and Halle Berry.
