Charles Burney (scholar)

Charles Burney D.D. (December 4, 1757 - December 28, 1817) was an English classical scholar and clergyman.

He was the son of Charles Burney, the music historian, and the brother of novelist Fanny Burney. The Reverend Burney's splendid collection of rare books and manuscripts was ultimately bought by the nation for the British Museum.
