Charles Andrew Dyce

Charles Andrew Dyce (1816 – 1853) arrived in Singapore from India in 1842 and was a merchant. He was the first secretary of the Singapore Sporting Club, an amateur thespian and, in 1847, High Sheriff for the three settlements of Singapore, Malacca and Penang. He designed the steeple of the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd and produced many competent sepias and water colours of the region which can be found at the National University of Singapore Museums' South & Southeast Asian Gallery.
