Charghat is located at 24.2833° N 88.7750° E . It has 30799 units of house hold and total area 164.52 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^GRBangladeh, Charghat has a population of 163862. Males constitute are 51.62% of the population, and females 48.38%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 82597.
