"Chapter Four" is a song from the 2003 Avenged Sevenfold album, Waking the Fallen.

The song is about the bible story of Cain and Abel, taken from the Book of Genesis, chapter four. The words "Avenged Sevenfold" are also found here.

The verses relate to the brothers, as one was light and good, and the other was evil.

The chorus is about the brothers offering their gifts to God and an "unholy night", the evil brother killing the good. "I've come here to kill you, won't leave until you've died. Murder born of vengeance, I close my brother's eyes tonight".

The 1st breakdown is when Cain is proclaiming to God that God had sided and accepted Abel's gift instead of his. "You took his side, you took his gift, feel the power of a fallen man. Crestfallen Man"

The new chorus is about Cain escaping the land from the "One" or God. It is here in the bible when God says "or he will be avenged sevenfold".

The 2nd breakdown is God speaking to Cain when he discovers Abel's death.

"Where has he gone, what have you done? A voice commands from high above this earth. From the soil his blood cries out to me. Murder. Liar. Vengeance. Deceit"

Most of that quote is from the bible as well.

An EP of Chapter Four and Eternal Rest was released at the 2003 Warped Tour.
