Chaparritas El Naranjo

Chaparritas El Naranjo is a non-carbonated fruit flavored Mexican soft drink produced by Grupo Mezgo. It has recently entered the United States market as of November, 2004.

It all started in 1937 with the popular juice extracts sold in bulk quantities. In 1947 it was decided to register the trademark as “El Naranjo”, and finally, in 1953, the trademark was commercialized as “Chaparritas El Naranjo”. They were called Chaparritas because the consumer itself named them like that when buying them at a store or restaurant.

It is like that that this beverage was produced in its glass presentation that we all know.

Likewise, it was decided to make a different beverage, a product that besides being original had the highest quality. The result: a beverage with characteristics that no other product had at that time. The Chaparritas are characterized for being a beverage:

  • Non-carbonated
  • Pasteurized
  • With all the properties of the natural essences of which they are made.

Additionally, we can attribute to the Chaparritas the creation of the category of beverages for kids in Mexico.

Chaparritas have always existed in three flavors: tangerine, pineapple and grape.

It comes in two sizes: PET (plastic) that has a 250 ml content and it is thought 100% for children since it does not break and it is easy to carry, and the traditional one made of glass and comes with a 224 ml content.

Chaparritas is unique and original; it has been the favorite of many Mexicans throughout the years due to the fact that it is a delicious beverage and that it has always been made with the same process, complying with the strictest regulations and warranting the highest quality product.

Chaparritas is a product made by Grupo Mezgo, a company dedicated to the development, production, bottling and distribution of beverages and waters in Mexico and the United States. It is a wholly owned Mexican company and totally self-sufficient since all of the processes are developed in-house, from the extraction of the fruits juices to the distribution of the final product.

Besides Chaparritas, Grupo Mezgo also produces Sangría Señorial and Trébol, which is a soft drink with the following flavors: tangerine, orange, lemon, apple and grapefruit.
