Chang Tsi

Chang Tsi is a famous Chinese poet in the Tang dynasty. He is the writer of the original text (in Chinese,it is actually a Chinese poem) for the second movement of Das Lied von der Erde by Gustav Mahler. The text is titled "Der Einsame im Herbst" (Autumn Loneliness) after translated into German. The real identity of Chang Tsi is still in a myth because the translated name "Chang Tsi" can mean several combinations of Chinese characters. Some believe he is 張繼 whereas others think that he is 錢起.
