Chang is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky. It is a stand-up coaster and at the time it opened, it set the world records for this type of coaster in height, drop, speed, length, and number of inversions. All of these records had eclipsed those of Mantis, which had opened at Cedar Point the year before, and would be eclipsed by those of Riddler’s Revenge, which opened at Six Flags Magic Mountain a year later. Its inversions are, in order: a 121 ft 7 in. tall vertical loop, 103 ft. 10 in. tall diving loop, 72 ft. tall inclined loop, and two corkscrews after the mid-course brake run.
In late March 2006, a contractor was injured when he fell from twenty-five feet above ground while painting Chang. He was taken to the hospital.
[edit] Trivia
- Chang was a rare roller coaster addition, being one of extremely few Bolliger & Mabillard roller coasters at small (financially) parks.
