Chandio

Chandio (Urdu: چانڈیو) is the name of a Baloch tribe in Sindh, Pakistan. The region where they lived was called Chandka. The Chandka region was located in the Qambar-Shahdadkot district. The British government disabled the status of the Chandka region, however the Medical College of Larkana is called Chandka Medical College. The Chandio tribe is now spread out over all of Pakistan with a concentration in Sindh. According to a survey of Sindh Qaumi Welfare Association, the Chandio tribe has a population of more than 6 million who are living in all over the world. District Larkana, District Kamber Shahdadkot, District Nawabshah and District Khairpur Mirs are the most populated vicinities of Sindh where Chandio community is settled. In Siraiki Belt of Punjab like Multan etc, Chandio community is settled.Ghaibi Khan Chandio was the Chief of Chandio.Bhanbho Khan Chandio and later on Sultan Ahmed Chandio were the key influential among the top level Chandio.
There are many internal tribes of Chandio, like Husnani, Ghaibiani, Marfani, Choliyani, Bangulani, Misrani, Qambranietc. and others named under the Chandios which are not actually Chandio, like Totani etc. Nowadays,Nawab Shabir Ahmed Chandio is the Chief of Chandio.
There are many other influential personalities of Chandio, like Rais Tharo Khan Chandio, Rais Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Rais Hakim Ali Chandio, Rais Khuda Dino Chandio, Rais Qaiser Khan Chandio, who are of most respectable persons to the Chandio community.
Oldest base village of Chandio is Ghaibi Dero near to Kamber Shahdadkot District and another most influential village is Rais Bhanbho Khan Chandio near to Taluka Miro Khan.
Actually, the Kamber Shahdadkot and Larkana Districts are known as the Districts and surroundings of Chandio.
