Champawat Tiger

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Champawat Tigress was a female Bengal Tiger shot in 1907 by Jim Corbett. It was responsible for 436 documented deaths in the Kumaon area of India mostly during the 19th century.

She was arguably the worst man eater in recorded History. She killed in two different countries (India and Nepal) and was so bold that she roamed the roads outside villages, roaring and terrorizing the villagers. The tigress had killed someone the same day she was hunted (a 16 year old girl). Most of her victims were women and children, but also adult men.
