Champak

Champak is the most popular children's magazine in India.[citation needed] The magazine is published by the Delhi Press Group. First published in 1968, the magazine is now published in 8 languages, viz., Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.

Champak is known for its educational stories set in contemporary times. The magazine does not pass off adult folk tales as stories for children. The magazine is loved by children for its depiction of animal characters in its stories.[citation needed]

One of the most popular animal characters in the magazine is a rabbit named Cheeku. The magazine has carried picture stories on Cheeku for years. Cheeku is known for his quick wits that he uses to help his friends whenever they are in trouble. His closest friend is Meeku the mouse.
