Chalicuchima

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chalicuchima (alternatively spelled Challcuchima or Chalkuchimac) was, along with Quizquiz (Quisquis), one of Atahualpa's two leading generals. In April 1532 he (along with his companion) defeated and captured Huascar in the battle of Quipaipan and afterwards executed the Inca family among with the aristocrats that had supported him. He was called back to Cajamarca in 1533 by Atahualpa during his capture, arrested by the Spaniards and tortured by having his feet burned, to reveal suspected hidden gold treasures or troop movements. He was later released and lived the rest of his life during the Spanish occupation.
