Chaldon Herring

Chaldon Herring or East Chaldon is a village in south Dorset, England, situated in the Purbecks, two miles from the coast and eight miles south east of Dorchester. The village has a population of 166 (2001), 11.9% of dwellings are second homes.

Notable for being the home of Llewelyn Powys and the home of sisters Elizabeth Muntz (sculpturess) and Hope Muntz (authoress and historian) who wrote 'The Golden Warrior'.

The village was home to an artists' colony under the patronage of T.F. Powys.
