Chak Jhumra

Chak Jhumra is a town near the city of Faisalabad, Pakistan. It is a sub-division of Faisalabad District and has a Tehsil municipal administration (TMA). There is a Sikh Gurudwara (shrine) dedicated to Shaheed Bhai Dalip Singh.[3]

As a constituency for elections to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, Chak Jhumra's elected representative is Chaudhry Muhammad Afzal Sahi who has been Speaker since 2002. He is sometimes called "Chaudhry of Chak Jumra". [4]

Chak Jhumra was the site of a widely reported extrajudicial execution by stoning in July 2002. A local imam is reported to have incited the killing of Zahid Shah for blasphemy.[5] [6] [1]
