[edit] Plot
[edit] Another Pee-wee Masterpiece
The camera pans across the back of the playhouse where the famous paintings are. Pee-wee is heavily engrossed in painting another picture. He then looks up and introduces the viewers to the show. He says he is painting. It's one of the many hobbies he enjoys in his spare time. He then finishes his painting: it's of a Picasso-esque painting of a woman. He says he loves painting (but curiously doesn't say he won't marry them). He says that it's another Pee-wee masterpiece.
Then Mrs. Renee runs into the playhouse, calling for Pee-wee. She hurries over and notices the painting. "You are so talented, Pee-wee!" she marvels about the painting. "You like it?" Pee-wee asks. "Oh, like it?!" Mrs. Renee says. "I love it! But I don't wanna marry it." She then asks how much the painting is. Pee-wee says that the painting is not for sale. But she insists on having it; it would be perfect in her breakfast nook. Pee-wee decides that instead of selling her the painting, he would give it to her for free. "It's a gift," he adds. Mrs. Renee says that he is not only talented, he's generous. That's a generous talent. She then grabs the painting and presses it against herself, saying that she loves the painting so very much. Pee-wee tries to warn her that's it still wet. But it's too late. The painting has stained her blouse. Pee-wee offers to help clean it off. But Mrs. Renee declines; she decides to go off to the mall to start a fashion trend. She promptly outs the door, calling out to everyone to look at her. Pee-wee muses, "Boy, Mrs. Renee is a real trend-setter!" He then removes his painter's cap and throws it neatly onto a hat hook.
[edit] Traffic Safety
Pee-wee then decides to find out the day's secret word. He unplugs Conky from the wall and flips the switch on him, bringing him to life. Conky says that he's ready to assist Pee-wee. Pee-wee says good morning. He asks his robot how he is today. "Fully operational, thank you," says Conky. "Great," says Pee-wee, "just checking." "I bet you'd like to know what today's secret word is," Conky says. "Why, Conky, you little mind-meter, you!" Pee-wee giggles. "One moment, please," says Conky. A piece of cardstock pops out of Conky's midsection. Pee-wee removes the card stock and displays it to the audience. The secret word is: WAIT. Pee-wee reminds the audience of what it is they do whenever they hear the secret word, then he tries it out on Globey: "What do you do when you come up to a red traffic light?" "Uh, stop," says the globe. "Yeah, then what?" Pee-wee asks. "Well, until the light turns green you have to wait," Globey says. Everyone screams. "That's right," Pee-wee says.
Magic Screen then tells Pee-wee that it's going to show the viewers a film about traffic safety a little later on. "Why not just do it now, Magic Screen?" Pee-wee asks. "Why wait?" Everyone screams again. Then Magic Screen shows the traffic safety movie. It's an old black-and-white film showing grade-school-aged children driving in small cars, narrated by James Stewart. These kids are seen disobeying all kinds of road rules: passing on curves, not signalling, rear-ending, hogging roads and going through stop signs. Stewart says that this is one of the important experiments in driver education today... and it proves that some people really do drive like six-year-olds.
[edit] A Missing Pencil Sharpener
"Moo-hoo! Pee-wee!" the Cowntess calls. Pee-wee walks over and says, "Hi, Cowntess, how are 'moo'?" The Cowntess explains that this will be a bit embarrassing. She is about to explain why when suddenly she changes her mind and tries to leave. "What's wrong, Cowntess?" Pee-wee asks. "No, Pee-wee, let's just forget about it," says the Cowntess. "It can wait." Everyone screams. "What can wait?" Pee-wee asks. Everyone screams again. Pee-wee pleads to her to tell him. "But it's just too embarrassing," she protests. "You know you can tell me anything," Pee-wee insists. "Now what is it?" The Cowntess sighs and explains: Pee-wee had borrowed her pencil sharpener and didn't return it like he said he would. She needed some pencils and had to come to remind him that he had not yet returned it. "Gee, you were right, Cowntess," says Pee-wee. "This is embarrassing!" The Cowntess agrees with him on this one. Pee-wee says he completely forgot about the pencil sharpener and asks when he last borrowed it. "About four years ago," the Cowntess explains. She tells him that she wouldn't ask him for it now, except now every pencil in her barn is dull. Pee-wee says he's glad she reminded him, but he's also sad she had to remind him. "I'm glad and I'm sad at the same time," he says with a chuckle. The Cowntess says it's no biggie. She tells him to give it back and never forget to return something he borrowed again. Pee-wee complies, but first has to tell the viewers that he can't show a Penny cartoon because he has to look for the pencil sharpener. He's about to do exactly to the viewers when the Cowntess asks him if he said, "Penny cartoon." Pee-wee says yes and the Cowntess decides that if that's the case, the pencil sharpener can wait. Everyone screams. A Penny cartoon is shown.
[edit] Rummage Through the Room
After the Penny cartoon ends, Pee-wee is seen rummaging through his bedroom, while Pterri watches. He calls out to Pee-wee. "What is it, Pterri?!" Pee-wee calls angrily. Pterri asks Pee-wee if he can ask him a question. "I'm looking for that pencil sharpener I borrowed from the Cowntess!" Pee-wee shouts. "What are you do— oh, never mind," Pterri says.
Now Pee-wee goes to his toy chest to look for the sharpener there. He opens it up and starts digging through, commenting that there is a lot of junk. Then suddenly, he discovers something that makes him forget his troubles: one of his old Pee-wee suits (a smaller version of his traditional suit). He looks at it and admires it, as does Pterri. "Kinda reminds me of when we were kids, Pterri," says Pee-wee. "But I'm too big for this now." He then shows him a pair of small platform shoes that go with the suit and says: "And for these, too. I can't fit any of it anymore." "Well, what're you goin' to do with all of that?" Pterri asks. Then Pee-wee decides to start a clothing drive. He will call up everyone in the neighborhood and ask them to bring over some of their old clothes.
[edit] Clothes Drive
Later, Pee-wee carries a big box filled with clothes to the purple island couch. It's very heavy, so he's struggling a little. He sits down on the couch, breathing heavily. He says that the clothing drive is going really swell. They have all kinds of clothes to give to charity. Randy floats down, questioning why they're giving all their old clothes to Chairry. "Not Chairry, Randy," Pee-wee says. "Charity." Chairry says that a charity is an organization set up to help those who are less fortunate. Conky adds that a charity is to help those in need. Pee-wee then adds that the clothes they don't need anymore "might just be the thing that somebody else really needs. And everyone's donated something." First, he shows the viewers an old turban, donated by Jambi. He fools with it by imitating Jambi: "Mekka-lekka-hi-mekka-hiney-ho! 'Wish'? Did somebody say 'wish'?" Then he shows a pair of hot pants (a kind of shorts), donated by Miss Yvonne. He pretends they are literally hot, as he keeps them only in his fingertips like a hot potato. Next, he shows the audience an African dashiki, donated by Reba the Mail Lady. "Hmm, dashiki-y," he quips. Finally, he shows the Cowntess' contribution: a pair of high-heel shoes. Pee-wee wonders if these would fit him.
Pee-wee puts the shoes on his feet while the record player on Conky's body plays a record: Fever, which Pee-wee dances to for a few minutes... until he comes to a sudden stop when Ricardo takes him by surprise. "May I have this dance?" Ricardo asks with a laugh. "I didn't even hear you knock!" Pee-wee says, annoyed. "I didn't, Pee-wee," Ricardo says. "I had to go to the bathroom and I couldn't wait." Everyone screams. Ricardo then shows him his donation for the clothing drive: his camisa. "That's Spanish for 'shirt', right?" Pee-wee asks for clarification. "That's right, Pee-wee," Ricardo says. "Muy bien." "That's Spanish for 'very good', right?" "¡Si!" "That's Spanish for 'yes', right?" "Right!" Ricardo agrees. "Now, Pee-wee, vamos a leer unos libros de la cultura latina y luego a comer y tambien parso jogar unos juegas muy dificil." Pee-wee stares and says, "'Scuse me, won't you?"
They both sit down on the couch and Pee-wee removes the Cowntess' shoes from his feet and put it back in the box. Magic Screen informs Pee-wee that it's donating its old sweater. Pee-wee discovers a sweater with a big square hole in it. "Aw, thanks, Magic Screen," Pee-wee says. The fish in the aquarium tell Pee-wee that they're donating their raincoats. Pee-wee takes out two small fish-shaped raincoats. They fish say they never wear them, then they break out laughing. "Thanks, you guys," Pee-wee says. Globey comes up, saying that he's donating his dickey. Pee-wee takes it from him. "What?" Ricardo asks. "A dickey," Pee-wee explains, showing the dickey to Ricardo. "It's a fake turtleneck." "Oh," Ricardo says, laughing. Globey says it makes his face look too round. "Amen, Globey," Pee-wee agrees.
Pterri then shows Pee-wee his donation: his pair of rompers from when he was a baby. "Oh!" Pee-wee says, taking the rompers and putting them in the box. Then the dialogue exchange between Randy and Pterri goes as follows:
- RANDY: "You're still a baby."
PTERRI: "I'm not a baby."
RANDY: "You are so a baby!"
PTERRI: "I'm not a baby!"
RANDY: "You're a baby!"
PTERRI: "I'm not a baby! Pee-wee, Randy says I'm a baby."
PEE-WEE: "Pterri, you're my little baby."
PTERRI: "See? I am so a baby."
Then Mrs. Renee enters the playhouse, wearing different clothes than earlier and bringing her own donation for the clothing drive: her paint-stained blouse from earlier in the episode. "But Mrs. Renee, I thought you loved that blouse," Pee-wee protests. Mrs. Renee explains that ever since she started a fashion trend, everyone's wearing them (which we don't see). Then Cowboy Curtis enters. He says howdy to Pee-wee. He then gives him a donation of his own: a beautiful tie. Pee-wee examines it, admiring its beauty. Curtis explains that the tie is a bit loud for him. The tie is in fact loud, as it has a big mouth on it, yelling, "BLAH! BLAH-BLAH! BLAH-BLAH-BLAH!"
[edit] Pencil Sharpener Still Missing
"Moo-hoo! Pee-wee!" comes the voice of the Cowntess. Pee-wee comes over, greeting her and asking if she would like a glass of water. She says no, thanks, she's just had a trough full. She then tells that she hates to have to remind him again that he still hasn't returned her pencil sharpener. "Oh, my gosh, I forgot all about the pencil sharpener," Pee-wee says with a groan. "I'll go look for it right now. Would you like to wait?" Everyone screams. "Will it be a short wait?" the Cowntess asks. Everyone screams. "It could be a long wait," Pee-wee says. Another scream. "Then I'll go home and wait," the Cowntess replies. Yet another scream. "Boy, this secret word is intense!" Pee-wee comments. "I thought the secret word was 'wait'," Chairry says. Everyone screams one last time.
[edit] The Search
Pee-wee searches all the shelves of his toy rack, but the pencil sharpener isn't there. He asks Ricardo if he found it. Ricardo, who is searching in the bathroom, says, "No, I haven't found it." Pee-wee then asks Curtis the same question. Curtis, looking over in the kitchen says, "Not yet." He searches inside the fridge, where the food are gathering for a hoedown and a rodeo. "I'm an old cowhand," a pickle that looks like a cowboy says riding a slice of watermelon that resembles a bull. Curtis shrugs his shoulders to Pee-wee. "How 'bout you, Mrs. Renee?" Pee-wee asks. Mrs. Renee is looking over near Pee-wee, next to the ant farm. "Sorry, Pee-wee, no such luck," Mrs. Renee says. "Ants?" Pee-wee asks. The ants form the word SORRY for Pee-wee.
Magic Screen then tells Pee-wee that it's time for Pee-wee to play with it. "I can't right now, Magic Screen," Pee-wee says. Magic Screen says that it's time to play with it. "I can't!" Pee-wee says. "I've lost the—" Magic Screen pretends to cry until Pee-wee says, exasperatedly, "Alright, Magic Screen, I'll play with you." "Yay!" Magic Screen says. Pee-wee hurries into the screen and yanks out his connecting dots, which form a dragster. He jumps into the car and races in it in a drag race (using live video). Suddenly, before he can win the race, though, he is catapulted from the dragster and lands on Chairry, like always.
Ricardo and Mrs. Renee come over to Pee-wee. They tell him they couldn't find the pencil sharpener. "What about you, Cowboy Curtis?" Pee-wee asks. Curtis is seen in the kitchen upside-down. He says he's turned the kitchen upside-down, but he can't find the pencil sharpener. He then joins Ricardo and Renee. Ricardo says he's sorry, but if there was a pencil sharpener in the playhouse, they would've found it. Curtis agrees with Ricardo.
[edit] Where It Was All Along
Then the voice of the Cowntess comes: "Moo-hoo! Pee-wee!" Pee-wee groans and says that it's time to tell the Cowntess the bad news. He is about to get up and leave and asking everyone to let him know how she takes it. But before he can leave, Curtis, Mrs. Renee and Ricardo all stop him and tell him what to do:
- COWBOY CURTIS: "You're the one who borrowed the pencil sharpener."
MRS. RENEE: "So you're the one who should tell her you lost it."
RICARDO: "Yeah, you're the one."
PEE-WEE: (agitated) "'You're the one', 'You're the one', 'You're the one'! Alright, I'll tell her."
Pee-wee nervously approaches the Cowntess and says hi to her. She says she again is embarrassed. "I don't know quite what to say," she says. "Oh, you don't have to say anything, Cowntess," says Pee-wee. "I have something I have to say." He is about to say it when he stops and looks over at his friends for support. They just prod him to go on. "I..." Pee-wee says. "I..." His friends prod him one last time and he finally shouts, "I CAN'T FIND YOUR PENCIL SHARPENER ANYWHERE!!!" The Cowntess tells him that that's because it's been in her barn all along. Pee-wee looks dumbfounded. She adds that she found it while looking through her things to give to charity. "Oh, Pee-wee, I'm so embarrassed," she concludes. "Can you ever forgive me?" Pee-wee says of course he can. He adds that he's actually glad she lost it in the first place. She asks him what she means by that. Pee-wee explains: "When I was looking for your pencil sharpener, I ran across some old clothes, and that gave me the idea to start a clothing drive. So you see, Cowntess, if it weren't for your pencil sharpener, we never would've given clothes to charity!" "Why, that's true," the Cowntess laughs. "I think I'll lose things more often." They both laugh.
Pee-wee goes to his scooter's place. He turns the crank on the statue arm and the hidden door rises, releasing his red scooter. He mounts the scooter and puts on the helmet. He then looks at Ricardo, Cowboy Curtis and Mrs. Renee and says good-bye to them and they say good-bye back to him. "You know, I've had so much fun today," Mrs. Renee adds. "I think next time, I'll lose something!" "Oh boy, Mrs. Renee," Pee-wee says, rather sarcastically, "I can hardly... WAIT!" Everyone screams one last time. Pee-wee then 'scoots' out, and the supposedly locked door swings open, and he flies out of the playhouse, passing Mount Rushmore on his way, as usual. The end credits roll.
[edit] Trivia
- The ants forming the word "Sorry" is directly lifted from Reba Eats and Pterri Runs, but this time, they make different sounds than that episode.
