Chairacha

King Chairacha (Thai: สมเด็จพระไชยราชาธิราช) (Reigned 1534-1546) was King of Ayutthaya (Siam). He was a son of King Ramathibodi II. He was the governor of Phitsanulok 5 years before to the throne. The Thai-Burmese wars begun in his reign by the Chiang Kran war. He ordered to make a shortcut of the Chao Phraya river in the area of current-day Bangkok that now is the main river course.
