Chain Collector is from Norway and the band was formed in 2003 as an idea which the entire band wanted, to play hard (heavy metal) but still melodic. Some of the members come from other known bands such as Green Carnation, Carpathian Forest, Trail of Tears, Dismal Euphony and In the Woods, So, the musical spectrum and experience is quite wide. In 2004, a Demo called "Forthcoming Addiction" containing 4 songs was recorded at DUB studio. The Demo got an excellent response in the magazine reviews. The band signed a two album record deal with Sound Riot Records in September 2004. But because the touring of some members with their other bands in the beginning the year, the production of "The Masquerade" was not finished until March 2005. In July 2005 German label, Massacre Records became interested in the band so, Sound Riot Records licensed the Chain Collector album to Massacre Records. Massacre Records released "The Masquerade" in Europe, Canada and Australia in November 18, 2005 while Sound Riot Records released their edition on December 09, 2005.
