From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chailey Secondary School is a relatively small comprehensive secondary school located in the village of South Chailey, just outside Lewes in East Sussex, UK. Chailey School was awarded Language College Status in July 2002. The school also provides adult classes in French, Italian, and Spanish.

The school also takes part in several local competitions and events including the Rotary Club "Youth Speaks" competition, The Mock United Nations General Assembly, and the "Lewes VI Form Schools Cup" (co-founded by a former student). Chailey has also put on several Shakespeare productions in the last few years, notably A Midsummer Night's Dream in 2003 and Much Ado about Nothing in 2005.

In the past few years Chailey's GCSE results have gone from strength to strength, with 75% of students achieving at least 5 A*-C grades at GCSE in 2005, well about the national average.

The current head teacher is Mrs. Lesley Young.
