The Chaifetz Arena, located on the campus of Saint Louis University, is a 10,600 seat multi-purpose arena in St. Louis, Missouri that began construction on August 28, 2006. Six months later, Chicago-based businessman Richard A. Chaifetz, a 1975 graduate of SLU, bought the naming rights to the SLU Arena, and will bear his name. It is due to be completed in 2008. It will be the home of the Saint Louis University Billikens men's and women's basketball teams, replacing Scottrade Center and the Bauman-Eberhardt Center, respectively. The first game for each of the teams is expected to be early in the 2008-2009 season.
