Chabber is a popular multi-platform instant messaging client that supports many commonly used instant messaging protocols. Chabber is based on Jabber XMPP standard protocol. Chabber is free software available under the GNU General Public License.

Chabber allows connecting on multiple servers using Jabber protocol, that can, by using gateways, connect to other account with different protocols (MSN, ICQ, YAHOO, ...).
