Château Bauduc is a private wine estate in Creon, a busy market town roughly halfway between Bordeaux and St Emilion. The chateau is a beautiful nineteenth century stone building, complete with twin turrets and a colonnaded south front.
The vineyards, which cover a third of the 250 acres, surround the chateau. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and some Malbec grapes are grown.
The article entitled "Where Britain's top chefs go for their house white" makes reference to the Chateau Bauduc blanc sec. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/foodmonthly/story/0,,1388574,00.html
Angela Quinney (the wife of the winemaker himself) belives the wine referenced in the Stinking Bishop cheese entry to be the Chateau Bauduc blanc sec mentioned in the observer article above. Interviewed Tues 12 Dec 2006.
