From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Certosa di Galluzzo is a monastery located in the Florence suburb of Galluzzo in Italy. The building is a walled complex located on mount Acuto, at point of confluence between the Ema and Greve rivers.

The Certosa was founded in 1342 by grand seneschal of the Kingdom of Naples and florentine noble Niccolò Acciaiuoli, but continued to expand over the centuries as the benefactor of numerous donations.

The name derives from the Carthusian order.
