[edit] Failed AFDs
This page was proposed for deletion 2004-07-15, see Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/Ceqli_language. It was deleted on a claimed result of 17:8 on deletion. It was proposed for undeletion 2004-07-29 and some arguments and the vote counting were reexamined, see Wikipedia:Votes_for_undeletion#Ceqli_language. With a recounted vote of 19:11 it was undeleted.
After all that, can we just concentrate on enhancing the article? Also, in the VfD discussion the option was voiced (e.g. from me), to consolidate this article, and some conlang articles in even worse shape, to an article "Constructed languages (minor).
And finally, please note that the entire area of constructed languages may need some restructuring, see Talk:Planned language

- The article was later recounted and redeleted. In October of 2004 Wiwaxia nominated it on Votes for Undeletion and got a majority of votes in his favor. The language was undeleted again.
- This article had another failed AFD in November 2005. Johnleemk | Talk 13:06, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
No offence intended to Rex May, but this is clearly the sort of conlang that should be deleted from Wikipedia. No speakers - ever! No user group - ever! No sustained interest from anyone besides the author. A pure hobby language. Nothing wrong with that, but if it deserves a Wikipedia article, then so does the 2-storey cage I built for my pet degus. --Chris 21:14, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Ceqli is in here people because know about the language! The language is well-known, and that's what's important in Wikipedia. People other than the author do care about the language; I was in fact the one who added it to the article List of languages before this article was ever written. On the Internet this is well-recognized as one of the logical languages. Can you say that your degu cage, by contrast, would be sure to be placed on lists of Famous degu cages of the world? - I'd admit that there's more third-party interest in Ceqli than I'd thought. And reviewing the history of conlang deletions, I suppose there's some support for keeping this sort of marginal project. If it were up to me, I'd set the bar for Wikipediability higher than this, but obviously it's not up to me, nor should it be. But yes, my degus' cage will undoubtedly make the list of Famous degu cages of the world, once I complete the Palladian façade. In fact, I fully expect it make the list of Famous human artifacts.
